Lyn and I are continuing with the decision we first took in 2015,
which was to use the internet to send Christmas and New Year Greetings
to friends wherever they may be, who we may not have caught up

or been in contact with during the year as frequently as we really
should have in favour of our making an annual donation to the
CANCER FOUNDATION'S PINK RIBBON APPEAL
and encourage others to do the same.

We also take this opportunity to let you know what has been
happening in our lives during the past year and welcome the
opportunity to hear from you in the same regard.

After many years Lyn has made the decision to end her time as a
Vinnie's volunteer and have a little more time for herself.
Hopefully we will get away a bit this coming year which
will help her in that regard

Lyn and I have our 57th Wedding Anniversary coming up on
12 January, and what good years they have been for us.
Never a cross word would you believe ?
"NO I didn't think so".

As you will notice there have been some changes over the years

While Lyn and I are both well, Lyn does have some memory problems
that we are endeavouring to come to grips with.

For us 2019 was a year we wouldn't want to repeat,
notwithstanding, It has been a long year for myself spent recovering from
a small fall
from the front porch the week before Christmas
which resulted in a perforated eardrum - fractured skull -
bleeding on the brain - six and a half weeks in hospital,
all of which explains why Season's Greetings were not extended in 2018.

However I am pleased to say that I have now fully recovered
and back to where I was before my fall.

For us 2019 started badly - recovered well - and is now best forgotten.

It only seems like yesterday (Oct 2017), that I celebrated my
80th birthday with family and friends at Julie and Justin's.
Lyn still has a year or so to go.

But as I have since had my 82nd birthday I am noticing the years are flying by.
Georgina (soon to turn 21) is doing well in her second year at Melbourne University.
Susannah (recently turned 17) is also doing well and entering her final year at MLC.
Nick 18 is also doing well having just completed his first year at Deakin University.

Tim who attends Trinity Grammar will be 12 in March

On the family front Julie enjoys a busy life looking after
Justin and their two daughters who are both lovely girls.

Justin is busy with his own successful business where he is an energy consultant.

Carolyn is in a senior role at Kilbreda College, Mentone
where she has been for over 10 years and continues
to ensure that Lyn and I are OK.

Tom is living  near Gothenburg Sweden where he and Amelie are both doing well.
Tom has a job in Industrial Design in which he has a Degree.
We keep in touch with Tom & Amelie regularly using Skype.

Amelie is doing well in Swedish Law and on her way to
becoming the Swedish equivalent of a Barrister.

Graduation Day Deakin University
Joe with girlfriend Sophie who is a lovely young lady.

Joe who is well established as a Project Manager will complete his study in 2020.
Joe is also a SES volunteer which speaks volumes for him.
Lyn and I very happy to see a lot of Joe and call upon him as needed.
Pleased to say that he is never found wanting.

Anthony has  decided that he has had enough of
banking and after 18 years in a senior role with
the Commonwealth Bank has decided to call it a day.

Meagan is an Associate Professor at Melbourne University
where she has her own research lab and in addition to her
lab work spends a lot of time attending conferences
both at home and abroad.

Lyn and I are very proud of what our family are making of their
lives as a result of their hard work and dedication.

Hopefully 2020 will bring about some travel for us but that remains to be seen!

In closing Lyn amd I hope that 2019 was a good year for you
and your family and wish you health and happiness in 2020.

Best regards

Lyn and Alan
